Launch vehicle is a Rocket. It transport the payloads into orbit. Every launch vehicle have payload. Payloads means which we are placed into orbit. Every launch vehicle launch by launch pad and payload is a Artificial satellite.
launch vehicles are set to artificial satellites into orbits. different types of orbit ranges are in space.
so many types of launch vehicles are classified till now,
Expendable Launch Vehicles :
Expendable launch vehicles specially designed and this launch vehicle using one-time only because when launch vehicle send into orbit with payload. Payload separate with launch vehicle in space but launch vehicle gives some velocity for payload after payload automatically traveling with that amount velocity in space orbit. If Every object is travels with 11km/sec velocity, the gravitation force is not work on object so object travels unlimited into space. other rockets parts are in space.
Reusable Launch Vehicle :
Reusable launch vehicles are reuse again when already launched. After launching, launch vehicles parts are recover and reuse for next launch proposals. This type of launch vehicles are mainly using commercial purpose. Space X is a good example for reusable launch vehicle.
And launch vehicles classifieds are also depends on their size,
- Sounding Rockets.
- Small Launch vehicles.
- Medium Launch Vehicles.
- Heavy Launch Vehicles.
- Super Heavy Launch Vehicles.
- Sounding Rocket :
Sounding rocket transports payload into sub-orbit. it is not transport into orbit also known as sub-orbital spaceflight. It contain lifting payload is 270-450 kilograms(600-990lbs). Sounding rocket send the payload between 50 to 1,500 kilograms into sub-orbit.
main advantage of sounding rocket is research development purpose and it's inexpensive for launch. sounding rockets are using for commercial satellite launches.
- Small Launch Vehicles :
- Medium Launch Vehicles:
- Heavy Launch Vehicles :
- Super Heavy Launch Vehicles :
U.S NASA Launch Vehicles :
- SCOUT.
- THOR-DELTA.
- THOR-AGENA.
- ATLAS-MERCURY.
- ATLAS-AGENA.
- TITAN - II.
- ATLAS-CENTAUR.
- SATURN - I.
- TITAN - III.
- SATURN- IB.
- SATURN - V.
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Launch Vehicle :
- PSLV(Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle).
- GSLV(Geo-Stationary launch Vehicle).
- GSLV MARK I & II.
- GSLV MARK III.
